Professor Ahmed Halawa is a Consultant Surgeon and Clinical Lead for Transplant Surgery within Nephrology and Transplantation at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and a Professor at Sheffield Hallam University, UK. He previously served as an Associate Professor at the University of Liverpool’s School of Medicine.

His research spans multiple aspects of renal transplantation, with a particular focus on complex medical and surgical cases. He also served as Programme Director for the Diploma and Master’s degree in Transplantation at the University of Liverpool.

Professor Halawa holds several honorary and visiting professorships at international universities. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and has delivered numerous presentations at both national and international conferences.

In addition to his academic and clinical work, he leads a range of workshops and educational programmes, particularly in renal parathyroidectomy and renal transplantation. He also supervises a large number of PhD and MSc students worldwide.
